M aison d’Architecture originally was established by rory donnelly after many years of designing and overseeing the construction of high end residential projects, working for renowned practices such as ambo architects, butterfield+macpherson, pj livesey group and the fallows gowen partnership.

brought up between france and england, rory studied architecture in liverpool + brighton before starting his architectural journey in London, restoring and extending elegant townhouses, as well as more unusual projects redesigning the grounds of a large suffolk country house. rory was also responsible for the validation of the university of boltons ba(hons) interior design degree and continues since 2009 to support the course and future design talent by acting as a professional industry advisor.

fleur mccarten + david mccarten formed IOM design architects in 2012 when the practice all three directors previously worked for ceased trading. they have steadily grown from their inception and work on prestigious projects throughout the north of england.

following recent sucessful collaborations working together on a number of projects delivering high quality design solutions for clients they decided to join forces, creating the new chapter, Maison IOM architects.

their combined experience ranges from contemporary lofts, luxury residential grade listed development conversions to private residential commissions including farmhouses, townhouses, grade II listed properties, country estates and substantial replacement dwellings. all threee driectors have acquired solid reputations through designing over 90 individual projects. clients will often come with unusual sites involving listed buildings and complex planning issues. they seek value though our commitment, enthusiasm and market awareness.
